Creature with a gaping maw a thousand miles wide
There was no seeking shelter, there was no place to hide.
And when everything was eaten, when we were all inside,
The creature nestled up against the nothing and it died.

I like the panels system in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. It forces you to make decisions similar to talent trees, with more flexibility, i.e., you have limited space and some panels have odd shapes, so you have to find an arrangement that lets you fit everything you need. Certain panels let you place “link panels” in them, which boost the panel that they’re linked to in different ways, e.g., the “Double Cast” panel will allow you to cast two of each spell that you link to it instead of the standard one. It lets you save and rearrange these arrangements of panels (called “decks”) per mission, depending on your needs. Overall, a pretty clever and intuitive system; I just wish the game in front of it were better.

This is the end of the world,” proclaimed the tour guide.

A guy in the back raised his hand, though not waiting to be called upon, “Er, it’s more like an edge, really.”

“Uh, yes, I suppose.”

“I mean, how do we really know this is the end? Maybe it’s just like, a gap.”

“A gap?”

“A really big gap. Like, er, really big, I guess?”

“Your powers of expression are astonishing. But Science proclaims that this is where the Creator got really tired of Creating and decided to take a break. Only he never came back.”

“Explains a lot, really,” the tourist says, peering over the edge of the basket.
